Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd is registered with SSM, following the renaming of LAKU Management Sdn Bhd, in line with State Cabinet (MMKN) approval.
2025
01 August
Sarawak Water officially brings together Kuching Water Board, Sibu Water Board and LAKU Management under one state water utility for urban and suburban areas across Sarawak.
KEY MILESTONES
Lembaga Air Kawasan Utara (LAKU)
Sarawak Water has been officially registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia/SSM) and changed the name from LAKU Management Sdn. Bhd. to Sarawak Water Sdn. Bhd. on the 26th December 2024.
Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Water)
On 1 August 2025, the three former water boards were integrated as Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd, the single state water utility for urban and suburban Sarawak.
Sarawak Water is built on a series of key decisions by the State Government of Sarawak. The milestones below summarise the main steps in the establishment of Sarawak Water as the single water utility entity for the state

Our Organisation
Sarawak Water is guided by a Board of Directors appointed by the State Government and led by an Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The management team covers key areas such as operations, maintenance, technical services and projects, finance, business development, quality, health, safety and environment, human resource and administration.
